OCTOBER 4, 2008 Opening Reception

"Venetian Walls" featuring JB Berkow

Ed Chasen Fine Art Gallery proudly presents " Venetian Walls"

featuring the beautiful oil paintings by Internationally known artist JB Berkow on

Saturday evening October 4, 2008 from 5-9 p.m.

Be sure to come meet the artist in person and enjoy her Venetian Series that has been in the planning stages for a long time. JB loves Venice immensely and particularly wanted to do her subject justice. It took many visits to this great city of love before she felt adequately imbued with the Venetian sensibility and spirit to properly transmute these qualities onto the canvas.

This will be a great evening not to miss.

Please contact us at 202-965-1801 to RSVP and to receive your invitation.

We look forward to seeing you at the show!

OCTOBER 18, 2008 Opening Reception

"A ROMANTIC EVENING WITH NATALIE LEVINE"

Ed Chasen Fine Art Gallery is honored to announce that we will be featuring the beautiful original paintings by Internationally known artist Natalie Levine in our gallery with an Opening Reception with the artist on:

Saturday evening, October 18, 2008 from 5-9 pm.

Natalie Levine is not a formula painter. Her works offer insights into her personality. Her style has been described as Impressionistic and Realistic, successfully combining light and color of the impressionists while maintaining some detail and reality of the late 19th century Realists. In her travels to France, Italy, Prague, Vienna and Budapest, she found great inspiration. As a collector of Art Nouveau and French antiques, her paintings reflect movement, color, and also her love for the spirit in which they were created.

Someonce once said that "Natalie's landscapes gently beckon her viewers to enter her tranquil settings". Quiet sensitivity......tenderness......a feeling of Peace....

Be sure to SAVE THE DATE and come meet Natalie Levine in person and enjoy a great evening of beautiful fine art, music and fine wine. Please contact Ed Chasen at 202-965-1801 to RSVP to this great evening.

DECEMBER 6, 2008 Opening Reception

"Taking Post Impressionism to New Heights"

featuring Samir Sammoun

Ed Chasen Fine Art Gallery is pleased to announce that Internationally and very collectible known artist Samir Sammoun will be gracing our walls in Washington, DC with his masterpieces for a one-man show on Saturday, December 6, 2008 from 5-9 pm.

Samir Sammoun was born in the Chouf Mountains, south of Beirut in Lebanon. Since then his world has changes many times and along with becoming a highly professonal telecommunications enginieer in Montreal, Quebec, he has also become a highly regarded post Impressionist painter.

He is a landcape artist with a vast repertoire of themes, apples trees in bloom, wheat fields, rows of lupins, olive trees, storms as well as a specialist in cityscapes and rural vilalges, streetscenes and churchyards. As a painter Samir Sammoun attempts to make his audience feel the wind blow through the trees, the heat in the air and the colour of the sky. He does so by seldom employing perspecitve in the classical sense. Instead he works in what could almost be described as patterning, finishing up by applying layers of light. His work is both rhythmic and spontaneous and filled with texture.

Samir Sammoun's palette is rich and varied and at times can be made up of 30 different shades and tones of colour. He uses soft round brushes and works mainly on jute, a stronger material than canvas. He needs the jute because of the amount of paint he needs to create the effects he wants.

Through his work, Samir Sammoun celebrates the joy of being alive. Being alive and feeling with all our senses. Being alive, however, also means that for every triumph there is in some small sense a failure and there is a certain wistfulness in his painting, a slight sense of mel-ancholy that makes the joy all that much richer.

Come meet Samir Sammoun in person and enjoy his beautiful collection of new masterpieces that he is painting just for our show and take home one of his great paintings that will enrich your fine art collection and your life for a lifetime.......
